Snatch these chairs before I take them to my next fair! I recently saw the two chairs and I couldn’t pass them by! The bigger chair would be perfect for an office or sitting room. I wish I had found multiples since the chair is so well made but I could only find the one! And this little chair would fit in a play room or reading nook. Tiny things are just cuter!

Grandma's House Sign (Mother's Day Surprise!)

 

For Mother's Day I made my mom this sign for her house.

Basement Reveal

When my husband saw the picture of the basement of this house he was convinced we should not buy it. I knew the wallpaper was loud, but there was a chance that this space could be transformed!

Our choices in paint color were teal ocean (think bright aqua), nightfall, and fair isle blue.

We ended up going with fair isle blue. It's a teal I can deal with. I actually love it! A quick note about the paint: We've been using Benjamin Moore's Natura due to the low odor. Fair isle blue only came in Aura. Aura is a little more expensive and has an odor, but we felt it adhered much better and we needed less paint.

Now it's time to make this room the office/gym!

We will have owned our home for one year next month. So far we have taken down wallpaper in 4 rooms and painted 6 rooms. Only one room left to take down wallpaper!

 

DIY Monogrammed Placemats

You’ll need:

2 yards of fabric

Thread

Sewing Machine

Fabric scissors

Straight pins

Stencil

Foam stencil brush

Fabric paint

 

I looked for fabric in the outdoor fabric section of Joanns. I wanted something water resistant and durable, but you could make these placemats with any type of fabric.

Two yards gave me four placemats size 18 inches by 15 inches.

 

 

Wash and iron your fabric. Cut your fabric and pin the right sides together.

 

Sew the rectangle but leave a few inches for an opening to turn the fabric inside out. Cut excess fabric away and cut the corners before you turn your placemat inside out.

 

I ironed the fabric again before I sewed it the last time to get crisp edges. I sewed around the perimeter of the placemat making sure to sew up the opening that was left from before.

Lastly, I measured where I wanted to put my “L” stencil and used a foam brush to apply the fabric paint to the stencil.

 

 

I’m still debating whether or not I want to apply Scotchgard to further protect them, not sure if I will like the texture.

 

 

Farmhouse Table

 

 

 

 

This is my first attempt at a farmhouse table and it is truly gorgeous! The turned legs and dark walnut finish are my favorite part of the design. This table is the perfect combination of rustic elegance. Because it is a prototype, I am offering it for only $500.

Spring DIY Party: Custom Flowerbox
