One Year Later: An Update

Saturday, June 17, 2017

A year ago today we closed on our first home!

Look how optimistic we are!

One year later I am DONE TAKING DOWN WALLPAPER! Well... almost..

Out of the 5 rooms that needed wallpaper removal I am on the 5th and final room. We have been calling it the "girl's room".
It’s a race against the clock with this guest bedroom. Our gender reveal is 2 weeks away and the boy’s room is ready to go! There’s a 50/50 chance we’re having a girl so I need to get this room up to speed.

First I pulled off the floral wallpaper. It came off it huge panels which was a big help. Then I started to remove the wallpaper backing.

This house is full of surprises. Behind the colorful wallpaper was a colorful wall!

But what brought this almost completed room to a complete halt was the mold.

I was so close! But being almost 5 months pregnant.. we need to call in a specialist. I'm done for now.

When we finally get this room in order, we’re thinking about painting it Sweet Dreams by Benjamin Moore, which is a light pastel blue. But we're still looking at options…

My husband reminded me that technically all 3 bathrooms still have wallpaper but I am not tackling that anytime soon! I'd much rather knock the walls down first!
